Coin Sorting Machines.

I remember a while back someone (reydale?) was promoting a penny sorting machine. I found a reydale website with not much in the way of detail. Does anyone have or use coin sorting machines (to seperate copper pennies from zinc ones, etc.) I am thinking of purchasing one, or, if that fails, making one.

I have a friend who says penny sorting can be done by roller-coaster "ramping" a penny between two magnets and creating an eddy current which will throw the copper penny, due to its obviously different conductive properties, further than the zinc penny, thus ending up with two hoppers of sorted pennies.
If anyone is interested in developing or purchasing such a penny sorting machine, please let me know.

FYI,

Coin sorting machines can be found at all of the car wash equipment suppliers also.

Typically the prices will be about as good as you can get, and the types available vary.

But finding machines that sort coins of the same design, but with different compositions-Lincolns vs Zincolns-that's a whole different animal. Rydale's machine, at $800, is supposed to quite a price reduction from what was previously out there.

Site definitely needs an update, says "A limited number of machines will be available to ship October 1st 2006, with full scale production and product availability November 1st."

I didn't realize he wanted that much for it - I figured around $200. I want to sort just one denomination by weight. I think I can build a machine for under $100 then just buy another one for $90 to count and roll what I've sorted. It sounds as if there is no option available on the market to do both, for a reasonable price.
